International Trade - Shippers Letter of Instruction
The shippers Letter of Instructions (SLI), while not required by any regulatory agency, serves a very important function. Its purpose is to convey specific instructions from the exporter to the agent, usually a freight forwarder. Several of the formats have evolved to meet the needs of both the exporter and the forwarder. This form is used to convey the details of the movement of exported products and documents to the freight forwarders.
